Brainspotting
A Highly Effective Therapy for Overcoming Trauma, Negative Emotions, and Pain
What’s Brainspotting?
We will connect to your emotions and body to facilite deep healing the connection of your eyes to your brain.
My clients are often stunned by how powerful their Brainspotting sessions are and how quickly the experience shifts in feelings and perspectives. They often say it’s like several talk therapy sessions wrapped up into one.
Brainspotting is based on the idea that, “Where we look affects how we feel”.
Brainspotting uses this natural phenomenon to locate, focus, process, and release emotions and body sensations.
We’ll use the inherent wisdom of your brain and body to help you fully let go of the issue or shift it in healing ways that talking alone cannot do.
I am Certified in Brainspotting which required Level 1 and 2 training along with completing consultation on my treated cases from a Certified Brainspotting Therapist.
What’s Brainspotting Used For?
Brainspotting is different from talk therapy alone, because you’ll feel it right away.
What I love about Brainspotting is that you don’t have to talk about the stuff that happened/that’s hurting you unless you want to. I know that some things can feel too painful to have to say aloud or feel to shameful to speak about. This prevents people from seeking help.
Often clients will tell me, “I know it up here (pointing to their head) but I don’t feel it here (pointing to their chest).” Brainspotting is amazing for connecting your head and your heart so that you can actually feel inside what you know to be logically true.
I feel fortunate to be able to offer my clients this technique and have experienced the power first hand. As a survivor of childhood trauma, I thought I had healed to the extent possible until I found Brainspotting. My own Brainspotting sessions showed me that I had settled for good enough when I didn’t need to.
What Can I Expect from Brainspotting?
I don’t have any trauma. Is this for me?
Brainspotting is great for almost any issue. Emotional pain is what often brings people to therapy but it can also be used for enhancing performance and creativity or shifting patterns or “stuck” feelings. I’ve used Brainspotting on many types of feelings and problems and am willing to work with you on almost whatever you bring to session.
If we can find a location in your body associated with the topic you want to focus on, we can use Brainspotting with it.
Here’s a Forbes Health article describing a bit more about it.
